Ninnotech Wins the U-Start NT$1 Million Grand Prize

22 November 2025

Ninnotech has been awarded the NT$1 million Grand Prize in the 2025 U-Start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, standing out among more than 300 startup teams. Only four teams ultimately received the highest subsidy of NT$1 million, and Ninnotech is honored to be one of them. This achievement not only affirms our strength in innovative technology and market value, but also reflects the high level of trust from both the government and the judges in the development potential of Ninnotech’s products.

U-Start is one of Taiwan’s most representative startup incubation programs, with a rigorous evaluation process that requires strong capabilities in technological depth, user value, and market validation. Ninnotech, with its smart fall detection system focused on elder safety, successfully impressed the judges through solid field validation results and standout technical innovations.

Key Features of the Award-Winning Product (Ground-based Fall Detector):

  • Non-wearable:No device needs to be worn. Seniors do not have to change their daily habits, making it ideal for bathing scenarios where wearing devices is inconvenient.

  • Non-camera:Combines infrared sensing and distance measurement to achieve accurate fall detection while effectively protecting privacy.

  • Real-time event reporting:When a fall is detected, notifications are sent via Wi-Fi wireless communication, reducing the risk of delayed rescue.

  • Designed for high-risk areas such as bathrooms:Waterproof, no power outlet required, suitable for 3–10 square meters bathroom spaces, and can be deployed in existing bathrooms with zero installation barriers.

  • Long-term validation in real environments:Tested for over one year across more than 10 different bathroom layouts, with numerous clients providing positive feedback.

Preventing delayed discovery of accidents is the product’s most important value

Bathrooms are the place where fall incidents among seniors are most likely to go unnoticed for long periods — people are often alone, doors are usually locked, the humid environment makes monitoring difficult, and after a fall, it is often impossible for the individual to call for help. Delayed discovery not only worsens injuries but can directly affect survival chances.

Ninnotech’s bathroom fall detection system was created precisely to address this issue. Through automatic, uninterrupted, and non-wearable detection technology, the system can send an immediate alert to family members or caregivers even when the user is unable to call for help, reducing the risk of injury deterioration caused by delayed discovery.

Ninnotech will continue to refine its technology, enhance the detection experience, and collaborate with more long-term care facilities and real-world environments — ensuring that bathroom safety is no longer a hidden risk for seniors living alone or families providing care.
